The Tata Power Company Limited today announced the appointment of Mr. Banmali Agrawala as Executive Director (Strategy and Business Development) with effect from February 15, 2008. Mr. Agrawala is currently the Managing Director of Wartsila India Limited (Wartsila).
Mr. Agrawala joined Wartsila in 1987 and held several senior positions in his tenure. He was the Vice-President, Power Plants, Wartsila (2000-2003) and the Vice-President, Sales, Wartsila (1998-2000). Prior to Wartsila, he was with Bajaj Auto Limited in Research and Development division (1984 to 1987).
44 years old and a Mechanical Engineer from Manipal Institute of Technology, Mr. Agrawala brings with him a deep understanding of the Indian power industry as well as the global renewables business. He has 23 years of professional experience in the industry and has held several senior positions in industry bodies. He is currently the Deputy Chairman, CII-Western Region and was the Chairman of Power Committee, Western Region, CII in 2006.
