Safety & Health

At Maithon, Safety has been adopted as a core value rather than a simple priority. MPL is committed to ensuring zero harm to its employees, contractors and the communities in which it operates. This is integral to the Company's business processes and it is focusing on continual improvement in the areas of health and safety across its operations. Some of the safety initiatives are listed below:

Weekly SIAT Safety Audit System in place under the leadership of the HOD.
Monthly Contractor Field Safety Audit System in place.
Adoption of PTW System.
Reward & reorganisation for safety improvement.
Celebration of Road Safety Week.
Celebration of National Safety Week.
Celebration of Fire week.
Conduct quarterly Mock drill which includes fire, evacuation, chlorine gas leakage & electrocution.
LOTO system adopted in 400KV Switchyard & CHP
Defensive driver training by recognised third party M/s HUBERT EBNER (INDIA) PVT. LTD.
Safety statistic board displayed at technical building.
Delta Improvement.
First aid facility with 24 hours ambulance & paramedical staff.
Fire Station with Two Nos. Fire Tender.
Working at height training by M/s Karam (Manufacturer of PPE’s).
Issue of gate pass after safety induction by MPL safety.
Tool box talk before stating of the job by supervisor on the basis of JSA.
Flash back arrestor fitted in both end of gas cylinder.
All welding m/c routed through 30 mA ELCB.
All critical activity followed with JSA.
Inspection of safety harness.
One week Safety Induction for all new joinees.
PPE Kit Pouch implemented at site.
Refresher training of contractor employees every 3 months.
Ensure PPE’s compliance at railway project site.
Tool Box Talk in place at railway project site.
