Sustainability Reporting

Tata Power has adopted guidelines laid down by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an independent body part of the United Nations. GRI has the 'triple bottom line' (TBL) approach: financial, social and environmental. Companies following its guidelines have to report their performance on 79 parameters in these three core areas. Tata Power prepared its first Corporate Sustainability Report in 2003 as per GRI 2002 guidelines for the period of 1st April 2002- 31st March 2003. Tata Power will prepare an Annual Corporate Sustainability Report beginning the financial year 2008-2009 as per the new GRI ‘G3’ guidelines released in 2005.
