Tata Power's Maithon Power Limited bestowed with Central Board for Irrigation & Power Award 2018

~Maithon Power Limited awarded as the ‘Best Performing Utility
in Thermal Power Sector’ ~

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always been a pioneer in implementing state of the art technology in its operations. Recognising the efforts, Maithon Power Limited (MPL), the Company's 74:26 joint venture with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), has been bestowed with CBIP (Central Board for Irrigation & Power) Award 2018 for “Best Performing Utility in Thermal Power Sector”.

The award was handed over to the CEO MPL Mr. Purushottam Thakur, CEO, MPL on CBIP Day at the SCOPE Convention Centre, SCOPE Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Shri Raj Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Power and New & Renewable Energy along with Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal and Dr. Satya Pal Singh, Hon’ble Ministers of State, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.

MPL is conferred upon with the award for its outstanding contribution to the nation by setting new benchmark in generation & maintenance practices, excellence in Engineering and use of latest state of art technologies and smart solutions.

The Central Board for Irrigation & Power Award 2018  adds another feather to MPL’s hat which also stands tall as the only fully operational PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode  thermal power station of the state of Jharkhand.
