Tata Power's CGPL celebrates International Women's Day at Mundra, Gujarat

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, through its 100 percent subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd. (CGPL), has always adopted a focused approach towards women empowerment by implementing various multi-dimensional development programs for them. In line with this commitment, CGPL, Tata Power's wholly owned subsidiary, celebrated International Women's day by organising a workshop to sensitise female employees, workmen and the community at large.

Over 50 women participated in the workshop held at the plant site. The objective of the campaign was to create awareness and provide expert guidance about personal safety, Prevention Of Sexual Harassments (POSH), the necessary legal procedures for women's safety at workplace and in society, and means to voice out their opinion against any such crime. It also sensitised the participants upon personal hygiene and health.

Talking about the initiative, Mr. KV Ghate, CEO - CGPL, Tata Power, said, “International Women's Day, as the name implies, is a day to celebrate womanhood while laying importance on gender equality. We, at Tata Power have always stayed committed towards the safety, health and hygiene of women in our areas of operation. This awareness session will not only educate women about their safety but also empower them to take care of their health on a priority basis. We are glad to organise such workshops like this which has helped facilitate a safer and hygienic environment for women."

The awareness session turned out to be really informative and was appreciated by all the participants.
