Tata Power wins its First Best CSR Community Initiative Award

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated Power Company announced its ‘first’ win at a recently held seminar by Odisha CSR Forum in Bhubaneswar under the category of “Livelihood & Employability”. The award recognised Tata Power’s vision and commitment to empower communities in India. The award was presented to Mr. Dillip Sahoo, Group Head, CR & Ms. Rashmi Pattanayak, Specialist-TPCDT by Sri Shashi Busan Behera, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Finance, Govt. of Odisha in the presence of esteemed dignitaries such as Dr S.N. Pasupalak, VC, OUAT, Dr Sudhanu Sarangi, Addl. D.G. of Police Odisha and Mrs. Anjana Panda, Joint Secretary, Govt. of Odisha.

Under “Livelihood & Employability”, Tata Power provides employability training to unemployed B.A/B.Sc./B.Com Graduates in association with TCS and providing employment opportunities in TCS through the TCS HR team at the end of the training. It is first of it’s kind convergence programme of Tata Group in Odisha and imparted training to 1705 Candidates in Odisha only and out of which 309 candidates have been selected by the TCS HR Team and offered job in the Company. Additionally, it also provides coaching for qualifying in Bank PO/Clerk/SSB/CSSB/RRB etc. and also Company formulated Village Development Committee (VDC) in different locations for providing livelihood opportunities to Farmers, SHG members and economically poor families.

The Odisha CSR Forum is a leading non-profit organization which has been engaged in promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It serves as a platform to connect corporates, Government, NGOs and professionals who collectively work towards inclusive growth & equitable development of the society. A part of the CSR Forum is dedicated to appreciating the efforts undertaken by corporates to enhance the livelihoods of communities through their knowledge and innovation.
