Club Enerji celebrates a decade of sensitizing 12.5 lakh students and saving 28,000 MUs in Ahmedabad

~Advocates energy and resource conservation amongst students across 15 schools ~

Club Enerji, a resource and energy conservation club by Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility, has always propagated efficient usage of energy amongst school children by educating them on climatic changes. In line with this commitment, the Ahmedabad leg of Club Enerji which kicked off operations in 2009 has sensitized 12.5 lakh students and saved 28,000 MUs. It reached out to students across 15 schools in FY2018-19 advocating simple energy saving tips amongst them.

Since its inception in 2007, Club Enerji has reached out to more than 533 schools nationwide, sensitizing over 19.34 million citizens and saving more than 25 million units of energy. With over 1,526 Mini Clubs the initiative so far has 2, 38,385 Energy Champions, and 2,83,473 Energy Ambassadors to its credit.

Through Club Enerji, we aim to conserve natural resources and energy by promoting various methods like fuel conservation, waste management, disaster management, and active citizenship. Children have immense potential and are the best ambassadors of change. Club Enerji organizes various activities like nature trails and visits to the Tata Mahseer hatcheries for the students, in order to increase awareness on its bio-diversity and conservation programs. Club Enerji also has an online module spread across UAE, US, UK, and South Africa, and Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Ajmer, and Bengaluru. Club Enerji today has become a holistic movement to save energy and natural resources. Through its various modules, children all around the country are growing into responsible citizens and proactive leaders of the future.
