  • India International Centre in New Delhi ‘Goes Green’: Energy efficiency estimated 90,000 kWhr per year
  • Offset 63 tonne of carbon annually
  • Annual saving of INR 10 lakh on the electricity bill

Tata Power Solar, India’s largest integrated solar company and Tata Power's wholly-owned subsidiary has commissioned 70kW solar rooftop installation at the eminent India International Centre. Tata Power Solar joined hands with India International Centre, one of the most premier cultural institutions of the country, to promote green energy. The project entails energy efficiency of 90,000 kWhr annually, along with reducing carbon emission by 63 tonne. This installation will help India International centre to save 10lakh INR on their electricity bill annually. The Uniqueness of this installation was that the engineering team had to cast the RCC beams to fit the ballast structure to the curved roof. The plan was executed ensuring that the structure is not hampered from any end. The roof mounting in the project was planned in an unconventional way as IIC has parabolic rooftops.

Tata Power Solar ensures that each designed structure is exclusive, as per the requirements of the space. Each project of Tata Power Solar is designed keeping in mind the safety of the team and surroundings. “Being responsible organizations, the association of Tata Power Solar and India International Centre showcases their commitment towards making the country a green energy leader.” said Shri N.N Vohra, President Indian International Centre.

“India International Centre is a prestigious establishment of the city and we are taking our initial step towards using green energy. Our association with Tata Power Solar showcases our farsightedness towards promoting green energy in the city as well as in the country.” mentioned in a statement Mr. Kailash Nath Shrivastava, Director, India International Centre.

Mr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, said, “With an aim to be environmentally responsible by reducing its carbon footprint, IIC and our solar entity, Tata Power Solar initiated this project to install 70kW roof mounted solar panels at the location.”

Mr. Ashish Khanna, MD & CEO, Tata Power Solar and President, Tata Power (Renewables), said in a statement, “We feel pleased to be associated and support India International Centre in their endeavour of encouraging green and clean energy by installing 70kW solar rooftop. This is another milestone that encourages us in maintaining our number one solar roof top position in the country.”

Tata Power Solar also comes with a successful background of executing large projects like the 100MW project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh on 500 acres of land and 30MWp Solar Power Plant in Lapanga, Odisha. It is one of the largest Solar Power Project in India, which is built on an Ash Dyke area that has 60% (19 MWp) in Ash Dyke area and 40% (11 MWp) in normal land. Apart from this, Tata Power Solar successfully executed 400 MW installations in Pavagada Solar Park, Karnataka.
