Tata Power awarded at the 10th CII ENCON Awards for energy conservation

Energy conservation is the crux of a sustainable global energy system. Tata Power has always strived to be an environmentally responsible company. The company’s Jojobera Power Plant was awarded with four stars at the 10th CII Energy Conservation (ENCON) Awards 2019 for its innovative approach towards energy conservation.

Tata Power’s Jojobera Power Plant in its presentation outlined various measures undertaken for energy conservation with a focus on one of its special projects, the “3 CW operations in Unit 2&3”. The CII ENCON Conclave witnessed a participation of over 100 teams from different industries which showcased their innovation towards energy conservation. Out of these, 50 teams were awarded based on the merit of innovation and its impact on energy savings.

The event was graced by industry leaders in power and energy sector who spoke about the energy scenario in India and how companies are gearing up for better energy efficiency and sustainability by deploying new technologies such as IOT, smart grids, EVs, smart metering, etc.

Lauding the efforts of the team, Mr Vijayant Ranjan, CEO - IEL & Chief – Jamshedpur Operations, said, “We are extremely glad to get recognised for our commitment towards energy conservation and hope to continue implementing other innovative methods in meeting our goal of energy conservation.”

The excellence in Energy Conservation (ENCON) Award acknowledges the vision and exemplary commitment companies have for Energy Conservation. The objective of this Award is to give recognition to the member companies who are making systematic, commendable and serious attempts for efficient utilisation and efforts towards significant improvement in conservation of energy.
