Tata Power’s women-centric club ‘Shakti’ inaugurates sanitary napkin vending machine in Ajmer, Rajasthan

~ Raises awareness on adolescent health care among school girls~

Tata Power has always been focused on the well-being of community women. In line with this, TP Ajmer Distribution Limited (TPADL) through its women-centric club ‘Shakti’ recently installed a vending machine and incinerator for sanitary napkins at Senior Secondary Girls School, Ajmer which was inaugurated by Mr. Gajanan Kale, CEO, TPADL.

An awareness session was organised for adolescent girls with an aim to break the taboo attached to menstruation by creating a comfortable environment for these young girls to address menstrual health and hygiene issues. Furthermore, it highlighted that menstruation is a natural biological process and that the consideration of menstrual hygiene products & safe disposal of sanitary napkins is important to ensure a healthy life & wellbeing.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Gajanan Kale, CEO, TPADL, said, “TPADL has always strived to contribute to the well-being of women at large. By inaugurating this machine and incinerator, we aim to provide a caring, supportive and healthy environment for these young girls. We would like to thank Senior Secondary Girls School for its support in making this initiative a success. We aim to continue to drive the message and cover more schools and girls in the future.”

Mr Shyam S Choudhury, Chief – HR & IR, TPADL spoke on the importance of education and impact teachers have in nation building. With students being at the centre of this initiative, the company also honored teachers for their efforts to mould the future generations.
