Sustainability Employability and Employment

Our CSR activities, in this thematic, focus both on farm and non-farm based initiatives. Livelihood, initiatives include vocational skills other than agriculture, wherein women SHGs, unemployed youth, fishing community, and farmers are target beneficiaries.

Our focus is to address livelihood access by enhancing crop productivity by diversified crop production as well as linkage with market. For youth and women, skill development programs are conducted as per market demand and linked back to. Tata Power is also supporting 2 Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) and 5 Tata Power's in-house skill training institute i.e. Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI- www.tpsdi.com).

Our highlights

  • Employability Training with TCS has led to 274 Youth placement in Maithon and Kalinganagar with average monthly income of Rs.14500 pm.Intervention being replicated at Mundra.
  • 32% increase in income level of Youth post employability training (ITI, Retail, and Hospitality etc.) with an average income Rs.8000 pm.at various locations.
  • To date nearly 500 SHGs are engaged in various social (70%), economic (20%) and governance (10%) interventions. Dhaaga coverage enhanced to 6 Locations (Mundra, Maithon, Maval, Jawhar and Kalinganagar and Mulshi) with an income range of Rs.2000-2500 pm.
