Tata Power organises Special Health Check-up Camp in Rajkot, Gujarat

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, has always strived to improve the health and lifestyle of the communities surrounding its areas of operation. In continuation with this cause, Tata Power along with the Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) conducted a sexual and reproductive health check-up camp at Mota Panch-Devda village of Kalavad taluka in Jamnagar district, Rajkot, for boys, girls, women, and elderly people of the community. The medical camp reached out to more than 263 patients. Further, Tata Power Community Development Trust also donated a new R.O. water plant which has been opened for public use in the school.

The main objective of the health camp was to educate the community on the best health practices concerning sexual and reproductive health. The camp included primary screening of all patients by gynecologist experts. This was followed up by a comprehensive health checkup for women diagnosed with gynecological disorders and problems, along with treatment advise. For children, the health camp included special counselling sessions with qualified specialist to tackle questions on puberty, as well as other health and emotional problems. The health camp also witnessed patients undergoing hemoglobin, PAP test, blood group, and sugar testing.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Ashok Sethi, COO and Executive Director, Tata Power, said, “Tata Power has always strived to promote a caring, supportive and healthy environment within the community. Such health camps give us the platform to spread awareness and encourage young adolescents to pay heed to their personal healthcare. The key functionaries included medical officer Dr. Viralben Ram, gynecologist expert Dr. Roliben Sharan, Dr. Sanjaybhai Kumar, M.D. Physician of Dev Hospital, Dr, Viren Hindocha, and Dr. Shakuntala Parekh. A.N.M of F.P.A.I. Rajkot branch, Sonal Devacharya and Rasilaben Javiya distributed medicines, while youth forum members Radhika Parmar, F.P.A.I computer operator Hiren Pathar and attendant Daksha Jotangiya helped in maintaining the camp.
