Tata Power's Trombay Thermal Power Station Conferred with the 'Safety Award' by National Safety Council

~ Achieves award for the Longest Accident Free Period in Power generation, Transmission & Distribution industrial group~

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility’s Trombay Thermal Power Station recently won the safest workplace award by The Maharashtra Chapter of National Safety Council (NSC) for achieving “Longest Accident Free Period (more than Ten Lakhs Man-Hours in a year) in Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution Indusirail Group” for the year 2017.

Mr. Shirish Kamat, Chief, Operations & Maintenance and Mr. Hiren M Chauhan, Head Safety & Fire, Tata Power received the award on behalf of entire Trombay Division. Mr. S. P. Rathod, Director In-Charge, Industrial Safety and Health, Government of Maharashtra was the Chief Guest at the award ceremony.

The award witnessed an active participation across various categories in Maharashtra including 1) Chemical & Fertilizers 2) Heavy Engineering 3) Light Engineering 4) Paper 5) Sugar 6) Pharmaceuticals 7) Cement 8) Textiles 9) Food products 10) Explosives - Ammunition and Matches 11) Storage handling & distribution of Petroleum products 12) Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution etc. which was adjudged by prominent judges from Director of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH).
