Further configuration of smart switches or devices are required when you change Wi-Fi router or its SSID & password, in that case do factory reset before configuration.

There is no limit of users for controlling same device. First user being master user needs to configure smart devices, he/she can share control or access of full or select devices to his or her family members as per requirement. Other members need not to configure smart devices again.

In case of Central Hub or Gateway, all smart switches or devices are connected through it, mobile app will communicate with Gateway and Gateway will then communicate with Smart switches or devices. Tata Power EZ HOME doesn’t have central gateway, mobile app will directly communicate with smart switches or devices. It saves cost of central gateway.

The warranty for all products shall be valid subject to:

  • If the product is not altered, damaged, dismantled or rectified.

You can add device in two mode Easy mode or AP mode

  • For Easy mode you follow the process as mentioned below or visit our website www.tatapower.com/ezhome/support-services/installation-support.aspx to refer installation video:

    Press device configuration button for 5 seconds, the Wi-Fi blue indicator will start blinking fast.

    In App follow: Home -> "+" or "Add smart home devices" -> Add Device -> select that particular device -> Ensure connecting mobile with Wi-Fi router network -> Enter the SSID and Password of Wi-Fi router network -> Configure signal -> click on "Blue indicator is flashing" -> % progress of configuration -> Finish.

    The configured device will appear in “Home” tab under “Unclassified”.
  • If adding device through Easy mode failed, you can add device through AP mode following the process as mentioned below:
    The device Wi-Fi blue indicator start blinking slowly.
    In App follow: "Add device by AP Mode" -> Configure Signal -> Connect to Wi-fi Hotspot of selected Device named " XXXX" -> select device -> go back to app-> choose Home Wi-fi -> type SSID & password -> Configure Signal -> % progress of configuration -> Finish -> get connected to Wi-Fi router network.

    The configured device will appear in "Home" tab under "Unclassified".

Following are the troubleshoot:

  • Confirm the device is powered on.
  • Confirm the device is waiting for network configuration.
  • Confirm that device, smartphone and router are as close to each other to have good coverage of Wi-Fi network of router.
  • Make sure the network function of router and smartphone are unblocked.
  • Confirm the entered router SSID & password are correct.
  • Confirm adding device is under 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi channel. Enable the broadcast and not allow to hide Wi-Fi.
  • Confirm that the routers encryption method is WPA2-PSK and authentication type is AES, or both are set up as automatic.
  • Make sure the router Wi-Fi name is only in English.
  • If Home Wi-Fi routers connected devices reach the amount limit. Please try to turn off some devices’ Wi-Fi function and configure again.
  • If the router enables MAC address filter, please try removing the device from the MAC filter list and make sure the router is allowing the device to be connected.
  • Make sure the LED on Device is in pairing mode and is Blinking fast, if not then Press the Push Button on Device For 5 seconds to make BLUE indicator Flashing Fast for STA or Easy mode.
  • If the STA or Easy mode failed the LED on the Device should be blinking slowly, add device in AP mode.
  • Make sure the device has LOCATION access. To check, navigate to device page follow.
    Settings> apps > permissions >Location.
    Make sure not to deny the app the permission for location access.

Install the App from Google Play store / Apple store. Open the app -> Register -> Enter the Details (Language, Email, Password, Captcha) -> click Register.

Following may be reason for failure in registration:

  • Check the Captcha and retry.
  • The email entered is not correct.
  • The password entered is too short.
  • There is no active Internet connection.

Open the app -> Sign in-> Enter the Details (Language, Email, Password) -> click Sign in.

Following may be reason for failure in Sign in:

  • Email is not correct as you have registered.
  • Password is not correct as you have registered.
  • There is no active internet connection.

Otherwise reset the password using "Forgot password" Button in the Bottom.

Open the app -> Go to More menu -> click “Sign Out”. It will be directed to “Sign in” screen and click “Forget password” -> Enter the details (registered Email, Create code which will be sent at your registered email & enter code and enter your new password) -> Finish.

You can now sign in with your new password.

Follow as: Home -> Select Device -> Device Page -> Settings button -> Device Name -> enter name -> confirm.

Following may be reason for failure in deleting device:

  • Device is not configured and added.
  • Device is not connected to app (local Wi-Fi / Remote internet).
  • Device is not powered ON.
  • Device is not connected to Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi LED indicator of device is blinking.

Follow as: "More" -> "My rooms" -> "Add" -> Select from default room / create custom Room -> select the added Devices from list -> "Save".

All the selected and saved device will be shown in added new room.

Following may be reason for failure in adding room:

  • Device is not configured and added.
  • Device is not connected to app (local Wi-Fi / Remote internet).
  • Device is not powered ON
  • Device is not connected to Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi LED indicator of device is blinking.

Follow as: "More" -> "Share Device"-> enter Email account -> Select from added device list-> "Finish".

Following may be reason for failure in sharing device:

  • Family members / users are not registered with EZ Home App.
  • Email of Family members / users are not entered correctly.
  • Device is not configured and added.
  • Device is not connected to app remote online (Internet access).
  • Entered Email id is not correct (not registered).
  • App is not connected to device either online or via Local Wi-Fi.

Follow as: Home -> select Device -> "Schedule Timing" -> click "+" -> select Hr and Min -> select action “ON/OFF” -> select repeat option -> "save"

The device will be operated automatically at schedule timing.

Following may be reason for failure in Timer option:

  • Device is not configured and added.
  • App is not connected to Device remote online (Internet access).
  • Device is not Powered ON and Active.
  • Device is not connected to Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi LED indicator of device is blinking.

Follow as: "Home" -> click "+" -> "Add Automation" -> "Add start condition"-> select from added device list-> Select Turn On/Off -> Add -> "Add a new executing task -> select from added device list-> Select Turn On/Off -> Add -> Repeat option -> Time Duration -> "Sure" -> "Save".

"More" -> "Automation" -> "Add" > "Add start condition"-> select from added device list-> Select Turn On/Off -> Add -> "Add a new executing task -> select from added device list-> Select Turn On/Off -> Add -> Repeat option -> Time Duration -> "Sure" -> "Save".

Following may be reason for failure in set automation:

  • Device is not configured and added.
  • App is not connected to Device remote online (Internet access).
  • Device is not Powered ON and Active.
  • Device is not connected with local Wi-Fi router, the Wi-Fi LED indicator of device is blinking.

Follow as: "Scene" -> click "+" -> Select Default Scene / create custom scene > "Add a new executing task" -> Select from added device list > select On/Off task with delay setting -> "Add" -> "Save".

Following may be reason for failure in scene creation:

  • Device is not configured and added.
  • App is not connected to Device remote online (Internet access).
  • Device is not Powered ON and Active.
  • Device is not connected with local Wi-Fi router, the Wi-Fi LED indicator of device is blinking.

Add Alexa

  • "Alexa app" -> "SKILL and Game" -> Search "EZ HOME" -> Enable Skill-> Login With Your Tata Power EZ HOME Account credentials -> Go Back -> Discover Device -> you Should See Tata Power EZ HOME Switch (Device) list In app. -> Select device -> Add device to Group or Skip. If it fails to discover device, then follow Smart Home -> Add device.

Following may be troubleshooting for Alexa configuration:

  • Ensure that you have Amazon Account and registered.
  • Device is configured and added.
  • Check Wi-Fi router has Device Internet Access (in case of Firewall).
  • Check Your EZ HOME account id and password.
  • Try Device Discovery again and the /user should be able to see the device.

Following may be reasons & troubleshooting:

  • The device and cell phone are not connected to the same Wi-Fi LAN for local operation. In case of remote operation internet service is available for W-Fi router and thus EZ HOME device.
  • Please put the phone besides your device and make sure that mobile and device are in the same Wi-Fi router network, switch off mobile data, try to operate Google website if it is the problem of network.
  • If you cannot access the network, it is recommended to restart the router.
  • User mobile must have Internet Access.
  • Still the Wi-Fi LED indicator of device is blinking. Then switch Off power supply to device and then power on to reboot the device.
  • Device is showing offline, Device is not Power ON.
  • If the device is connected to the network, the above problem persists, please enter "More" screen, select "feedback" page, and click on "I want to feedback" to enter the problem you encountered, upload screenshot, we will serve you wholeheartedly.

Voice control with Alexa / Google HOME, Say "Alexa or Google turn ON/OFF the “Device name."

Following may be the troubleshooting for Voice Control:

  • Ensure that device is configured and added to Both EZ Home app and to ALEXA or Google Home.
  • Ensure that device is connected to Wi-Fi router with local wi-fi.
  • The app and Alexa must have an active internet connection.
  • The Wi-Fi LED indicator of the device is stable "Blue".
  • Make sure that the name pronounced is same as is configured in Alexa or Google Home.

For Schedule timing ON/OFF, no input is required by User, the device will be controlled as per set schedule time. Ensure that the Device is powered ON and under local Wi-Fi network.

Following may be troubleshooting for Schedule Timing operation:

  • Ensure that device is configured and added.
  • Ensure app & device are connected to Wi-Fi router network, the Wi-Fi LED indicator of device is stable “Blue”.
  • Make sure the device is Powered ON and Active.

Scene ON/OFF, "Scene"-> Select created Scene for execution.

For operating Scene ON/OFF, "Scene"-> click created Scene for execution.

Following may be troubleshooting for device offline:

  • Ensure device is powered on.
  • Please check if the network is stable. (Check method: put the phone or IPad nearer to your device and make sure they are in the same network environment, try to open a website to judge if the network can be used.).
  • Confirm whether the home Wi-Fi network is normal, or whether the Wi-Fi name and password have been modified. If so, remove the device and add it again. (Device removal mode: open the App and Home -> press Setting button -> select Factory reset -> Confirm. And Click “Delete Device” and confirm to delete device for avoiding any confusion).
  • Please try to restart the router by switching power Off & ON, wait 3 minutes and observe the status of the device;
  • Such as network normal is not changed after screening, please enter "More" screen, choose "feedback" page, click on the "feedback" to enter the problem you encountered, upload screenshots, we will serve you wholeheartedly.

When you open App, the app started to sync with all added/configured devices and server through Wi-Fi router, so it shows offline for few second (5 seconds).

A

1. If the device is controlled by a manual switch, the device may not be synchronized immediately, it may take some time to get updated in the App based on Wi-Fi network environment.

2. It is recommended that you open the App and wait for few seconds to synchronize the app with devices and server and then start operating the device.

Unable to control devices through App, the functions are not effective after control. Following may be the reasons:

  • It is recommended that you keep the App open for few seconds and observe whether the device is still offline or online in App.
  • It might be due to bad Wi-Fi network environment.
  • Device is offline, Wi-Fi blue led indicator of device is blinking.
  • Device is not power on.
  • If the device is still online in App, please put the phone besides your device and make sure that mobile and device are in the same Wi-Fi router network, switch off mobile data, try to operate Google website if it is the problem of network.
  • If the device is online, network is good, but still can’t control, please enter "More" screen, select "feedback" page, click on "I want to feedback" to enter the problem you encountered, upload screenshot, we will serve you wholeheartedly.
