Tata Power is accelerating India’s renewable energy transition through its clean energy initiatives that span utility-scale wind, hydro, and solar projects in India, plus Tata Power Rooftop Solar and open access power for businesses. Tata Power’s total renewable energy capacity is 5,755 MW. Its rooftop program crossed 1.5 lakh installations and around 3 GW across 700+ cities, expanding renewable energy capacity and renewable energy generation. The group’s clean and green energy portfolio is 40%, delivering clean energy solutions and sustainable power generation that advance India’s clean energy transformation.
Tata Power's renewable energy projects cover utility-scale solar projects in India, wind farms, hydropower with pumped storage, and floating solar. It builds firm and dispatchable hybrids such as RTC (round-the-clock) and peak power with battery storage to ensure reliable renewable energy generation. It also develops rooftop systems, rural microgrid solutions, turnkey EPC plants with O&M, and solar EPC power plants, and enables open access power for businesses, expanding renewable energy capacity for sustainable power generation across India.
Tata Power delivers reliability by pairing wind and solar with firm, dispatchable contracts and storage, enabling round the clock and peak supply. Pumped hydro projects in Maharashtra add long duration backup that stabilizes the grid. A central control room with SCADA monitors assets in real time for higher uptime and faster maintenance. Solar microgrids can island during outages to keep power flowing. Together, these reliable & renewable energy solutions support power generation at scale and ensure sustainable power generation for homes and businesses.
Yes. Individuals can go solar through Tata Power rooftop solar with expert design, installation, and subsidy support. Businesses can source green electricity via open access power in India, contracting directly with Tata Power under approved regulations. Enterprises can also co-own capacity through group captive solar projects implemented by Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited. Tata Power reports multi-MW group captive deployments across India. These partnership routes provide credible, long-term clean energy solutions with Tata Power as the developer and operator.
According to Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, Tata Power renewable energy capacity totals 11.3 GW in India (utility scale), with 5.6 GW operational today, about 4.6 GW solar and 1.0 GW wind, and 5.7 GW under implementation. Presently, its solar EPC portfolio in India exceeds 15.7 GWp of ground-mount utility projects and over 3 GW of rooftop and distributed ground-mounted systems. Tata Power's total installed capacity includes 7.0 GW of clean and green generation.
Tata Power's renewable energy portfolio goes well beyond solar. It generates wind and hydro power and also operates thermal plants. Its renewables arm delivers round the clock green energy by combining solar, wind and battery storage, and executes turnkey EPC from rooftop systems to utility scale. The company also builds and runs transmission lines and large distribution networks across Mumbai, Delhi, Ajmer, and Odisha. In addition, it operates the largest EV charging network in India under Tata Power EZ CHARGE.
