Maithon Power Ltd. Inaugurates ‘Daksh’ Training Program in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services

Maithon Power Ltd., a 74:26 joint venture between Tata Power & Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), has been relentlessly contributing towards the welfare of the communities that surround its area of operation and the nation at large.

In line with this commitment, Maithon Power Limited (MPL) collaborated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s leading IT company, to impart soft skills training to graduating youth from the geographically remote and economically backward region of Nirsa. This training program aims at developing requisite skills for KPO sector among students from disadvantaged sections of society. Ms. Tandrima Ray, trainer from TCS has shared that this 100 hrs. training program spread over 20 days will focus on business communication, business etiquettes, computer knowledge, soft skills such as body language in official environment, public speaking, group discussion and presention skills.

Mr. CB Singh, Head-Special Projects, chaired the inauguration event at “Daksh Centre”, MPL, and expressed that the KPO Industry has great scope of employment opportunities .He further requested participants to spread this message of working hard to excel in their chosen career and encouraged them to avail of this wonderful opportunity through the training.  Mr. Arun Bahuguna, Head-HR, has further talked about Tata values, and shared motivational tips for success in the Corporate sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Purushottam Thakur, CEO & ED, MPL, shared, “Success of any country depends upon its youth and we at MPL strive for developing requisite employability skills, to enable them flourish in their career and contribute towards our nation’s progress under ‘Daksh ‘ Initiative.

After completion of first batch of 60 students, teams further planned to train 200 youth. The event witnessed participation of large number of community members along with MPL officials.
