CGPL organizes Fire & Safety Awareness Session for students in Mandvi, Gujarat

~ Raised awareness among 513 students, 30 teachers & 5 schools~

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power utility, has always considered the safety of its employees, consumers, and communities as its core priority. It has led the way in promoting safety measures in its operational areas as well as across all its business processes. As part of the 10th Tata Volunteering Week, CGPL, a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Power organised a Fire and Safety Awareness session with high school students in Mandvi.

With an aim to reduce fire accidents among children, CGPL's Safety Department volunteers organised training sessions for over 513 students and 30 teachers of Nana Bhadiya Primary School, Gundiyali Primary School, Maska Higher Secondary School, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Deshalpar and Faradi High School. The sessions focused on various measures that should be adopted for prevention of fire and to enhance its impact, students were also given practical training of handling fire prevention equipment.

Talking about the initiative, Mr. Ashok Sethi, COO & Executive Director, Tata Power, said, "Well-being of our community has always been at the heart of CGPL's operations. By organising Fire Safety Awareness sessions as part of the 10th Tata Volunteering Week, we aim to create a safe environment for our community members. We would like to thank the school authorities for extending their support for the smooth execution of the session. The appreciation for our efforts by them only makes us strive harder to practice this philosophy in all areas of our operations."
