- Tender initiated for 100 MW/200 MWh BESS installation planned for TPC-Mumbai in next 2 years.

- This project will ensure uninterrupted power supply in Mumbai region in case of national or regional grid failure.

- This has advanced black start functionality which will enable swift recovery of power supply of critical infrastructure like Hospitals, data centers, airports and Metro etc. in case of grid disturbance.

- The state of art technology will optimize reactive power management, improve demand curve, efficiency of network and strengthening the City power infrastructure.

- Has high ramp rate capability to meet sudden changes in load along with Islanding capability ensuring grid stability.

- The decentralized BESS at 10 different locations near the load pocket shall ensure lesser network losses.

- Purchase off-peak electricity at low prices for charging the storage system, so that stored energy can be used or sold at a later time when the price of purchased electricity is high. This will reduce the Power Purchase Cost and hence benefit customers in long run.

- BESS will support capital expenditure deferral by minimizing infrastructure cost for meeting peak demand.

- This supports demand flexibility and enhanced sustainability.
