At Tata Power Trading Company Limited (TPTCL), we believe that the true measure of an enterprise lies in the well-being of the communities it serves. Our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is deeply rooted in the legacy of the Tata Group and the enduring vision of our founder, Jamsetji Tata. For us, CSR is not a checkbox. It is not an initiative we carry out alongside our operations. It is a responsibility that goes beyond business. It reflects our belief that the purpose of progress is to uplift others and to ensure that the benefits of growth reach every corner of society.

TPTCL’s CSR initiatives are built around creating lasting, inclusive impact in key areas that we believe are essential for a stronger, more equitable future. Together, we focus on four key areas that form the foundation of our commitment to creating lasting and inclusive impact: 

At TPTCL, we believe education is a powerful force for inclusion and empowerment. In line with Tata Power’s commitment to education, we actively promote awareness around learning disabilities by partnering with local institutions and community groups. Our CSR initiatives go beyond just giving and build capacity and create pathways for sustainable livelihoods through education, skill development, and support for income-generating activities. For us, this is not just responsibility; it is a promise to uplift lives and foster lasting change in the communities we serve. 

Roshni: Integrated vocational training

Through Roshni, and with the heartfelt support of Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) and our partner NGOs, we offer inclusive, hands-on training designed to equip Persons with Disabilities with the skills they need to succeed. Beyond training, we walk alongside our candidates, helping them secure meaningful jobs that foster confidence, dignity, and social inclusion.

Anokha Dhaaga

Anokha Dhaaga is more than just a skill development centre—it’s a space of empowerment in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, where rural women learn stitching and sewing alongside digital and financial literacy and leadership skills. Through this initiative, we’re helping women weave their own paths to self-reliance and entrepreneurship.

Swasth Pradesh Abhiyaan

In partnership with dedicated NGOs, TPTCL supports vital projects aimed at improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) for women and girls as well as providing care for the homeless and elderly. Our contributions include installing water purifiers and sanitary napkin vending machines in schools and community centres, and funding a shelter home for abandoned senior citizens because everyone deserves a safe and healthy place to call home.

Accessibility, visitor safety, and sustainability at Hauz Khas Fort

Together with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Doctors for You (DFY), TPTCL is working to make Hauz Khas Fort more accessible and visitor-friendly. From providing wheelchairs and first aid support to installing bottle crushers that promote sustainability, this initiative also brings the community together to celebrate and conserve their shared heritage.

TPTCL’s CSR initiatives have directly benefited thousands, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to social responsibility and inclusive growth. 

Award to TPTCL for supporting immunization and vaccine booster programs

Over 1,100 beneficiaries were directly supported through TPTCL CSR projects in FY 2024–25.  Received joint recognition from the Government of Bihar, Homi Bhabha Cancer Institute, and Tata Memorial Centre for an immunization and vaccine booster initiative that reached over 10,000 beneficiaries. 

Tata Power receives Outstanding CSR Initiative for PwDs Empowerment Award

Honored with the ‘Outstanding CSR Initiative for PwDs Empowerment Award’ at the India CSR & Sustainability Conclave 2024 for the Saksham Divyaang project. 

Indian contingent member Md. Kashif Khan winning silver at Abilympics 2023, France

Proudly supported Md. Kashif Khan, a member of the Indian contingent led by the National Abilympic Association of India (NAAI), who won a silver medal at the 10th International Abilympics 2023 in Metz, France, promoting disability inclusion on a global stage. 

Water distribution at a shelter home for homeless residents

Supported the construction of a shelter home that currently provides refuge and care for approximately 750 homeless and abandoned citizens.
