Tata Power Trading is the first company in India to be awarded a power trading license by Central Electricity Regulatory Commission. The Company holds Category ' I ' license which entitles it to trade unlimited power. Tata Power Trading has become a trailblazer in the power trading arena with a host of innovative initiatives. In a short span of time after receiving the license, Tata Power Trading has catalysed the flow of electricity across the length and breadth of the country helping bridge the demand and supply gap of the various utilities.

Tata Power Trading has an extensive presence in bilateral trading (Short/Medium/Long term) complemented strongly by its membership in both Power Exchanges (Indian Energy Exchange and Power Exchange of India Limited). Tata Power Trading is therefore uniquely positioned to maximize returns to its esteemed clients. In addition, Tata Power Trading provides a gamut of services like Coal Supply Facilitation and Advisory Services covering Project Management, Techno-commercial aspects, Clean Development Mechanism and Renewable Energy Certificates.
