Wind energy is power generated from the natural movement of air. As wind flows across the Earth’s surface, it carries energy that can be converted into electricity using wind turbines. Since no fuel is burned in the process, wind energy is a clean, renewable, and sustainable source of energy.

How it works - 

1. Wind flows over the blades of a wind turbine, creating lift and causing them to rotate

2. The rotating blades turn a central shaft connected to a rotor

3. The rotor drives a generator housed inside the turbine nacelle

4. The generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy

5. Electricity is transmitted through cables to substations and then supplied to the power grid

This includes utility-scale wind power capacity contributing significantly to the nation’s renewable energy mix.
