Tata Power is fully prepared to meet Mumbai's anticipated peak electricity demand of 4,500 MW this summer, up from 4,307 MW last year. The company has secured 1,630 MW of power through a diversified mix of thermal, hydro, gas, solar, and wind sources. Utilizing AI and ML tools for precise demand forecasting, Tata Power expects its distribution network's peak demand to reach 1,100 MW. To further bolster resilience, the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved the procurement of an additional 145 MW of thermal power. Additionally, Tata Power is installing a 100 MW Battery Energy Storage System across 10 strategic locations in Mumbai to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical infrastructure during grid disturbances.
