National, 8th March 2026: As part of its ‘Sun Sheroes’ campaign, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) is spotlighting the inspiring stories of women professionals who are playing a key role in building the company’s upcoming 300 MW SECI solar project in Koppal, Karnataka. The campaign celebrates the contributions of women working on-site in technical roles, highlighting their leadership, resilience, and expertise in driving India’s clean energy transition.
Set in the sun-drenched plains of Koppal, the project is quietly telling a powerful human story. At the heart of the site are 19 women in technical roles, who together make up nearly 37% of the workforce. Their presence reflects the growing participation of women in the renewable energy sector and underscores TPREL’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive workforce.

For these women, the site is more than just a workplace. It is where they manage teams, solve daily engineering challenges, and ensure the project progresses smoothly, often in remote conditions and in roles that have traditionally seen very few women.
Their journeys span different parts of India, but they share a common determination to prove that skill, leadership, and technical excellence know no gender.
For many of them, being part of the Koppal project is a matter of pride. The experience has provided them with opportunities to grow, lead, and inspire others back home.
As the project moves closer to completion, these women are not just helping build a solar power plant, they are quietly reshaping the narrative of India’s renewable energy sector, demonstrating that women are increasingly at the forefront of powering the country’s sustainable future.
