Mumbai, September 09, 2026: Tata Power’s Mumbai distribution business has crossed 92% in digital bill payments, while paperless billing adoption is nearing 60% of its consumer base; signalling a clear shift among Mumbaikars towards faster, more convenient and contactless ways of managing their electricity bills.

The growing preference for digital channels is being enabled by Tata Power’s My Tata Power App, customer portal and WhatsApp Bot, alongside multiple payment options including UPI, BBPS, net banking, cards and e-wallets. Through these platforms, consumers can pay bills, download duplicate bills, track consumption, register complaints and request reconnections without visiting a Customer Relations Centre, helping reduce queues and turnaround time.

Paperless billing is seeing similar momentum, with bills delivered through e-mail, SMS and WhatsApp. Consumers can opt for e-bills through the My Tata Power App or customer portal without any paperwork, giving them anytime access to their bills while also reducing paper consumption.

Tata Power is also actively encouraging digital adoption through social media campaigns, Milan Camps and Digital Literacy Sessions. Initiatives such as “My Digi Guide,” wallet partnerships offering rewards and cashback, and “Go Digi, Get Lucky” are helping consumers transition to e-bills and digital payments with greater ease and confidence.

The sustained growth in both digital payments and paperless billing reflects a broader change in how Mumbai’s electricity consumers engage with their utility; with convenience, speed and self-service increasingly replacing physical visits and paper-based processes.

Tata Power Mumbai Distribution will continue to expand its digital and self-service offerings, while retaining assisted and in-person channels for consumers who require additional support.
