Tata Power Renewables advancing India's energy transition through its 190.5 MW FDRE Project at Kalasar, Bikaner, Rajasthan.
National August 24, 2026: Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), one of India's leading renewable energy companies and a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited (Tata Power), has commissioned its 190.5 MW Solar FDRE project at Kalasar, Bikaner, Rajasthan which is under the contractual capacity of 460 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Project.
The 190.5 MW project has been developed under SJVN FDRE Tranche-1. The project will supply energy to Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC), Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) discoms.
The project marks another significant milestone in India's clean energy journey by integrating large-scale solar generation with advanced energy storage and grid support technologies to deliver reliable, dispatchable renewable power.
The project demonstrates TPREL's engineering excellence and execution capabilities, having overcome several complex challenges including compressed project timelines, global supply chain disruptions impacting the availability of transmission line materials, module mounting structures and other critical equipment. It has successfully adopted several new technologies such as BESS, Harmonic Filter Bank and Static Var Generator systems.
Among the project's notable execution milestones was the completion of the switchyard within just three months and the Harmonic Filter Bank within one month, reflecting TPREL's focus on speed, quality and execution excellence.
With this project, TPREL's total renewable utility capacity has reached 12.4 GW. Of this, around 6.9 GW is operational, including 5.6 GW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind capacity, while close to 5.5 GW is under various stages of implementation, are expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 24 months.
The Company remains committed to developing innovative clean energy solutions that contribute to India's target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and Tata Power's vision of a sustainable energy future.
