Anokha Dhaaga is a woman based micro-enterprise initiative in the thematic area of livelihood & skill building of TATA Power, which augments household income.

With an objective of empowering women, it was initiated in Maval (Maharashtra). The journey began in 2015 with 16 women members being trained as artisans in readymade garments manufacturing and traditional handicrafts to promote the local talent and conserve their traditional art which would augment their household income. Subsequently it was also replicated keeping in mind the local artwork in Delhi, Gujarat and Jharkhand.

Today the Anokha Dhaaga initiative touches lives of 1050 women across 8 states of the country

(Delhi, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat).

There is a consistent supply of the products by these women to meet the stakeholder's orders. There has been an additional increase in monthly income of these women in the range of Rs. 2000 - Rs. 5000 in a span of 1.5 years and further spearhead the intervention to enhance the production efficiency and strengthened the sustainability of the programme.

TATA Power and Saheli World

Saheli World collaboration is a path breaking step to synergize and provide global platform to the women entrepreneurs of Anokha Dhaaga. Saheli World is a new initiative to empower women entrepreneurs by enabling them to use Saheli World as a marketplace to showcase and sell the products of Anokha Dhaaga Self-help group, with training and end-to-end support.
