Introduction

Through our Roshni Vocational Training Centres (VTCs), we equip underserved communities with technical, vocational and green-energy skills, including solar PV, energy storage, EV charging, power transmission, industrial safety and smart metering. We also empower women with practical skills, enterprise management, financial literacy and leadership capabilities, enabling them to become community ambassadors.

Core highlights

  • Expanded skilling initiatives to 55 centres across 14 states, reaching 1 lakh+ youth through VTCs and ITI programmes, with women accounting for ~50% of beneficiaries.
  • Trained 400+ youth in trades such as assistant electricians, fabricators/welders and retail sales assistants across multiple states.
  • Trained 350+ youth as solar PV technicians and installers, integrating employability readiness skills.
  • Strengthened partnerships with 83 Industrial Training Institutes, enabling hands-on technical training for youth from underserved communities in high-demand trades.
  • Trained 640+ youth in solar and electrical skills at the Wayanad Skill Park in partnership with the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), Government of Kerala.
